This ICAO workshop allows participants to discover the guidance material contained in the Aviation Security Manual and provides an opportunity to design a draft program that can serve as a basis for the development of State-specific certification systems and/or be integrated into existing systems.
Learning objectives
Describe the requirements and benefits of a certification system as provided for in Annex 17.
Identify the difference between training and certification.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the criteria for the establishment of certification systems, as well as the indications provided in the ICAO Security Manual – Doc 8973/8 (restricted).
Establish the criteria for the recruitment, selection and training of personnel who can be certified.
Identify nationally defined regulatory requirements related to the certification and recertification system.
Establish criteria for a national certification system.

This workshop is intended for personnel responsible for the development, implementation and/or supervision of AVSEC certification systems.
Prerequisites
Have written and oral command of the language of instruction.
Engaged within organizations mentioned in the target population.
