ِAdvanced Aeronautical Cartography

Objective

The course aims to provide the Aeronautical Cartography Specialists with competences required to develop all types of Aeronautical Charts effectively and efficiently in accordance with ICAO Annex 4 – Aeronautical Charts, 11th Edition, July 2009; ICAO Aeronautical Chart Manual, Doc. 8697, Third Edition, 2016, ECAR 31.1, 2024.

Learning objectives

  • After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
  • . Acquire the relevant concept of the modern Air Navigation Satellite Systems
  • . Identify the digital data sources used in the chart’s productions
  • . Produce all types of local AIP charts using drawing tools
  • . Apply quality assurance procedures on the production Aeronautical Charts

Prerequisites

Having a university degree or equivalent, preferable in civil engineering or Geography.
Having at least 2 years’ experience in the field of AIS
Attended the Basic Aeronautical Cartography Course
Aware of chart drawing tools
