Objective

The course provides personnel involved in safety management with the competencies required to efficiently capture, assess and manage safety data contained in aviation safety reports, in accordance with ICAO Annex 19 and Doc 9859.

Learning objectives

  • Implement effectively regulations and procedures related to safety occurrence reporting,
  • Implement functional requirements for safety occurrence reporting systems in accordance with applicable State regulations,
  • Manage an effective safety occurrence reporting system by implementing data protection measures, applying suitable taxonomies and ensuring data quality to enable further conversion from safety data to safety information.

Target audience

  • Personnel from CAAs or services providers who are involved in SMS/SSP processes
  • Secondary Target Population: CAA's safety oversight staff (e.g. inspectors) and/or operational staff from service providers.

Prerequisites

Aviation/technical skills, and a sound knowledge of aviation
Knowledge on regulation and principles within SMS/SSP
Potential participants are: Pilots, Air traffic controllers, Flight Dispatchers, Flight Operations Experts, Aeronautical Engineers, Maintenance/Technical Control Managers, Human Factors/CRM Experts
